Tune in for businesses' insights into state budget

Pennsylvania Newsmakers to air this weekend

The 2009-10 state budget and the solvency concerns facing the state' Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund are among the topics that will be discussed on this weekend's edition of Pennsylvania Newsmakers.

PA Chamber Vice President Gene Barr and Pennsylvania Manufacturers' Association President Fred Anton will address those issues and more with host Terry Madonna.

Barr and Anton provide insight into the budget process and the timeframe for enactment. The June 30 deadline looms with no expectation for an on-time budget. Pennsylvania faces a $3.2 billion deficit and Senate leaders have rejected Gov. Ed Rendell's call for a Personal Income Tax increase.

The status of the deceptively titled Employee Free Choice Act is also on the agenda.
