ChamberPAC: Candidate Resource Center

Endorsement Process

. Candidates seeking a ChamberPAC endorsement are evaluated upon the basis of one or more of the following:
   
. Voting record (if an incumbent Member of the General Assembly);
. Responses to a Candidate Questionnaire, which is designed to measure compatibility with
  Chamber positions, and/or;
. Interviews with staff or members of the ChamberPAC Board and/or Selection Committee.   

. Candidate questionnaires are sent to open-seat candidates upon request or where the election of a pro-business candidate is either desired or possible. Section One of the Questionnaire seeks background information: education, employment, voting history, etc. Section Two lists and briefly describes key business issues and concerns. Candidates are asked to give their position on various issues –such as:
   
. Capital Stock-Franchise Tax (CSFT);
. Corporate Net Income Tax (CNI);
. Net Operating Loss (NOL) Provision;
. Local Tax Reform;
. Product Liability/Tort Reform;
. Workers' Compensation Reform;
. Health Care;
. Environmental laws and regulations, and;
. Unemployment Compensation Reform.
   
. Once endorsed, a candidate is eligible to receive direct financial support from ChamberPAC and "in-kind" services that target key business people in their Districts.
